This inaugural editorial introduces the Journal for Kansas Mathematics Teachers (JKMT), a new publication building on the Kansas Association of Teachers of Mathematics’ century-long tradition of professional collaboration. The journal seeks to connect research and classroom practice by sharing accessible, evidence-based strategies, reflections, reviews, and practitioner research for a broad mathematics education audience. The editors emphasize teachers as creators of professional knowledge and invite contributions from novice and experienced writers, supported through developmental peer review and workshops.
